THE MONSTERS
‘ OFF THE ROAD WE GO’
(Voodoo Rhythm)
Switzerland’s Monsters are back with an as uncompromising opus of Mindfuck Psycho Trash as they’ve ever produced. You can always be sure of a wild ride with Bern’s finest psycho trash exponents but that’s where predictability ends. Beat-Man’s vocals sound angry regardless of the lyrics, even when being sort of tender ‘Eyes, Hands, Words’ being an example and a great segway into the lyrical content of this album, they’re to the point, drilling into your brain as the wonderful cacophony swirls around you. ‘Fuck Shit Up’ doesn’t beat around the bush slithering off like it wants to be the soundtrack for a porn film then kicks the shit out of you. ‘Comfort Zone’ is a concerted effort to get you out of yours, why, because it’ll kill you, a benevolent public service announcement from the Monsters we should all heed. Incredible rock n roll mayhem, if this album is in your comfort zone, I envy you.
