SIMON LANGHARD
‘ALONE’
(Super)

Swiss punkabilly legends The Peacocks' bass player Simon Langhard bared his soul for this 15 track rocking solo album. It’s a sometimes brutally personal record which runs the gamut of country, rockabilly, psychobilly, garage and punk with a smattering of electronica thrown in for good measure. They are self-penned apart from an hypnotic version of Wreckless Eric’s ‘The Girl With The Wandering Eye’ which sits nicely with the rockabilly of ‘Last Day’ punk of ‘I’m Happy’ and psychobilly of ‘The Observer’. This album is a paradox with some downbeat lyrics combined with a stomping beat, the CD has three versions of ‘Rhythm Bound’ with dance moves called that are really symbolic of the merry go round we often find ourselves in, ’99 Percent’ probably beats the record if there was one for insults in a song, there are earwigs a plenty here, also available in pink vinyl and download, grab it.
